Paintings rooted in place, memory, and feeling.

I’m Lauren, a watercolour artist based in Canada. I paint because I can’t help it. It’s a borderline obsession — and the way I make sense of the world and my experiences.

When I paint, I’m instantly transported back to the places and moments I’m working from. Whether I’m painting from memory, reference photos, or outdoors, the act of painting helps me notice things I’d otherwise miss — subtle shifts in colour, light, atmosphere, and mood.

That awareness is what I try to carry into my work.

Why Watercolor?

Watercolor suits me because it’s demanding and unpredictable. It doesn’t allow for many mistakes, but it also invites happy accidents — moments where the water and pigment do something better than I could have planned.

I’m a perfectionist by nature. I spent over 20 years as an interior designer, where details matter and control is part of the job. Watercolour balances that side of me. It rewards precision and restraint, while still leaving room for curiosity, movement, and a sense of adventure.

My Work

Each piece begins as an original watercolour painting, created by hand. I’m less interested in creating a “perfect” image than I am in capturing the feeling of a moment before it passes.

Selected works are reproduced as fine art prints so they can be shared more widely, while maintaining the character and integrity of the original painting.

Art for lived-in spaces

As a professional interior designer, I’m deeply aware of how our spaces affect our wellbeing. The artwork we live with matters — it shapes how a room feels, not just how it looks.

I hope my work brings a sense of connection to the natural world into your home — whether that’s vibrancy, quiet calm, or a feeling of curious wonder. My goal is to create work that lives well in real spaces and becomes part of everyday life, not just something you notice in passing.

If you’re drawn to work that’s grounded, expressive, and rooted in real places and moments, I hope you find a piece that connects with you.

Thank you for being here.
